A well-regarded London university is looking for an Events Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for project management of public affairs and university events. As per the Events Officer role you will manage senior external contracts and will ensure events are well planned, executed and delivered. The ideal candidate has experience in delivering multiple, simultaneous, large scale events, preferably in the higher education context.
  
Responsibilities:
  
  • To proactively deliver and work on the day-to-day tasks of managing an event and be responsible for the general logistics around its delivery
  • To coordinate working groups and ensuring collaboration from various directorates across the School
  • To work with colleagues across the School to audit event activity and manage or advise on high profile events, including risk audits
  • To meet the informational requirements high profile individuals involved with the events by ensuring that they have positive experiences at the event
  • To support in the delivery of key School mass participation events and to lead the delivery of key school-wide events for staff
  • To support the creation of a calendar of events to deliver the needs of seniors and groups
  • To work with the Head of Events and Communications, Events Manager, the Director and Pro Directors as well as senior staff across other academic and administrative departments
  • To work with colleagues across the School to establish and maintain an accurate database of the guest lists and registration and attendance
  • To manage the strategic relationships and be the first point of contact for stewarding these individuals
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Higher Education Degree, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser's Edge, Eventbrite, Zoom
  • Experience in delivering multiple, simultaneous large scale event
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and assess situations quickly
  • Keen eye and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact at different levels in the organisation
  • Experience of using databases, and customer relationship and web content management systems
  • Experience of working in Higher Education
